Why Can't I Find The Perfect Home In Nevada?

One thing I’ve learned from being in the real estate business and being a home buyer in Las Vegas is it’s very hard to find the perfect home that has all your wants and needs. It’s usually like finding a needle in a haystack.

Most buyers have similar needs in a home like a nice kitchen, tiled floors, granite counters, big closets, nice curb appeal and large living areas. These things are usually very easy to find depending on your price range.

The problem is trying to find the home with all the wants a buyer would like to have coupled with the needs they prefer. When we bought our first home in Las Vegas, we wanted a home with a 3 car garage, a view of the mountains and a pool along with our needs. After looking at many homes, we settled for a home that had a 2 car garage, a view of the mountains and a pool size lot. I added a pool later so the only thing we don’t have in the home that we wanted is a 3 car garage. Since I’ve been helping people find homes for over 10 years now, this seems to be the normal scenario. There is always one or two wants the buyer ends up agreeing to go without.

Unless you’re willing and have the money to build your dream home from the dirt up chances are you will not have everything you want in the home. Things like rv parking, pools and large lots are available but they may not be available all together or coupled with a great view and a 3 car garage. I’m not trying to discourage anyone. I’m just trying to paint a realistic picture of what I know by experience.

We all have needs and wants when buying a home. Sometimes we have to make adjustments and realize the perfect home with all your wants does not exist.
