Never Feel Forced Into Buying A Home!

You should never feel forced into purchasing a home.  It should be your decision and your decision only.  Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions you will ever make in your life.  Make sure you're comfortable with your purchase decision.

I've read many articles on people that lost their homes to foreclosure and the buyers stated they felt pressured into buying the home by the Realtor or the Loan Officer.  If that happened, I feel sorry for them.  A Realtor or Loan Officer should not influence the buyer's purchase.  It's our job to listen to your home needs, make sure your qualified, show you homes, run comps, write contracts and facilitate the transaction.  It's your job to know what you can afford and what you want to bid on the home.

Before you even call a Realtor, you sit down and do a family budget to see what you will feel comfortable spending a month on a home.  Don't forget to budget for property taxes, insurance and HOA fees.  You can find many mortgage calculators on the Internet to help you with this process.  Once you find the home sales price that gives you a monthly amount you feel comfortable with then you can call a Realtor for help.  You are the only one that knows if an additional $7-$10 a month is feasible or not.  You can always ask your parents or friends for help or suggestions.

I get a lot of people that ask me what they should bid on a home.  My standard answer is what ever makes you comfortable.  Take the comps into consideration along with your home budget and make your own decision.  After all, it's your decision!

I hope you like this post.  Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.  Thanks and have a great day!

Sincerely,
